How good are you at recognizing seasons?
The recent stay at home orders has left many of us confused about which day it is.
Is it possible we are missing signs of the seasons?
I grew up in a family full of agriculture.
My grandfather on my father’s side raised cotton.
My grandparents on my mother’s side did a lot of home gardening.
I grew up with an awareness that seasons matter.
There is a season to plant.
There is a season to fertilize.
There is a season to weed.
There is a season to harvest.
Miss one of the seasons, and you get results that are less than ideal.
Get them out of order, and you won’t have anything to show for your work.
What season are you in?
In Proverbs 10:5, it says, “He who gathers crops in summer is a wise son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.”
Is it possible you are missing the signs of the season?
Is there a harvest?
Is there a dream that God is calling you to, but you’re letting it rot in the field?
Perhaps God is saying, “Go, I’ve given you this dream, and now I’ve reset your world. Go take advantage of it.”
Perhaps he’s waiting for us to ask, “God, what season am I in, and how should I be taking advantage of this opportunity?”
It’s time for you to ask God what season you’re in.
It may be a time to plant.
It may be a time to weed.
It may be a time to harvest.
It may also be a time to rest.
The opportunity to create the transformation you desire in your life exists if you will embrace the season where you come alive and thrive.
